Description:
Ansley Fox A grade 12 gauge SxS shotgun made in 1909. 30” #1 barrels with .038” nominal wall thicknesses and choked Mod (.015”) and Full (.038”); chambered for 2 ½” shells. There is a small “ring” 6” from the muzzle in the right barrel. The barrels were reblued sometime ago and still retain 98% of that finish. The frame has 30-40% original case colors and some very light surface rust. It has double triggers and the gun is mechanically perfect. The round knob Prince of Wales grip is on a stock with very nice figure. The LOP is 14” to the butt plate, 1 ½” DAC & 2 5/8” DAH with neutral cast with good original finish remaining. The gun weighs 7 lbs. 4 oz. and it is a very nice example of what many collectors regard as the finest American made double.
