Description:
A Ketland / Tower flintlock dog lock Indian trade gun with a 45" long barrel and a well marked lock plate and proofed barrel. Has crossed scepters proofs and WS over a proof on the barrel. The metal parts has a mild brown patina as these guns were issued in the white. The side plate is a classic brass serpent, and the brass butt-plate has tacks not screws a sure sign that this is a trade gun. Comes with a long iron rem -rod that looks like it is period. The European hardwood stock is clean with typical edges up against the barrel with age splits , but none falling off as the wood is very thin at this location.A very rare gun to find complete and working well, and original.
