Description:
Winchester Model 1886 .45-70 Government 24 inch factory Octagon Barrel. The serial number of this rifle is 107729 placing date of manufacture in 1896. Overall condition of this example is excellent. The Barrel and magazine have retained 85+% of the original factory blue. The bore is perfect and will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. The bore is damage free with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. Brilliant case colors will be seen on the receiver and lever with a tight, smooth and mechanically perfect action. Wood to metal fit is perfect with minor handling/storage marks as can be expected. A signed letter from Hank Williams,Jr. on his personal letter head will accompany this rifle indicating it was once was part of his personal collection.
