Thames Arms Co. is a brand name not a manufacturer. This name was used by Harrington & Richardson and Hopkins & Allen. Top break revolvers with Thames Arms Co. marking are advertised in the 1895 Montgomery Wards catalog, which were probably H&A manufactured and H&R came into the picture after H&A closed its doors. Thames Arms Co. is one of those mysterious companies that often show up in the firearms world. They were an actual incorporated company with offices in Connecticut, they did not seem to have any manufacturing facilities just an office. All their top break revolvers appear to have features that indicate manufacture by Hopkins & Allen only. Thames Arms Company was a trade name used on utility grade, economy revolvers in the late 1800's and early 1900's and made by Harrington and Richardson Arms Company for an unknown wholesaler. This revolver was the "Automatic" Model referring to the automatic ejection when the cylinder was opened.
