Description:
There are a lot of Civil War guns in existence today but you don't see many with the condition of this fine Peabody. The bbl is 95-98% blue. The frame, sideplate and hammer have all case colors remaining and are just lightly faded. The trigger guard and bottom of the frame which would be the carry point also have case colors remaining. I don't know if this gun was never issued, or if after the war it went through a refurbish at an arsenal, but it is just plum "as new"! The bore looks the same. There is such a variety of Civil War guns that it makes for an interesting collecting field. This one here would be a great addition to any Civil War collection!
