Features standard markings with visible Spencer address & patent date on top of breech. Faint but visible cartouche on left side of stock behind saddle ring plate & what looks to be “RS” initials carved into right side of buttstock. In good plus condition overall with metal showing a nice aged patina with wood showing use throughout with an old crack that runs the length of the left side buttstock to the saddle ring bar. Mechanically sound with crisp action & very good bore showing strong rifling with some pitting. Overall, a good example of an unaltered, Civil War serial number range Spencer Model 1860 Carbine.
