RARE UNALTERED FIRST MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR RIFLE, #56XXX, MADE 1875, very difficult to find unaltered first model 1873s, this one has the correct long wrist stock with good circle P cartouche behind the trigger guard, also has an oval with "NJ" in it as well as a NJ stamp on the left side of the receiver ring- I assume this had something to do with the state of New jersey, stock is basically very sound and solid with some rack/unit numbers stamped just ahead of the top of the butt plate, never been sanded, shows only normal light handling marks, barrel blue aged and mixing with an uncleaned attractive plum/blue patina, correct barrel proofs, high arch breech block, correct hammer, 1873 dated lock plate, correct two click tumbler, correct cleaning rod, bright exc. bore, correct rear sight
