Manufactured in 1861 and shipped to Major R.H.K Whiteley at the United States War Department, New York Arsenal, Govenor's Island, New York. $300 Colt Archive Properties Letter included. The revolver appears to be 100% original with all matching numbers including wedge. Have not removed the grips which have a nice color. There is some decent case hardening color on frame, otherwise metal is a pleasing plumb-brown fading to a smoky medium pewter gray. Action is tight and smooth, nice. No rust...no pitting that is glaring, noticeable or in-your-face, nice surface. Tiny scattered pits on cylinder. Cylinder is nice with a weak scene. .44-caliber, six shot, 8-inch barrel, standard New York markings and grips Inspector marking present on left grip, butt-plate cut for shoulder stock attachment. Barrel and cylinder display smooth mottled brown and gray patina; frame shows some casehardening color, consistent with barrel and cylinder…German silver front sight…a nice hard to find early war documented 4-screw example. Purchaser must be at least 21 years of age and to provide a valid state issued driver's license as proof. This is an antique firearm. No FFL required.
