Metal on this gun is dark blue like it had been touched up or possibly reblued long ago as the color is not modern hot salts blue. Action is good , gun indexes good and locks up . Sometimes there is a slight overbank, and the mainspring is tired but works good enough. SN 6965 on back strap, trigger guard and frame. The cylinder has the Patent: Sept. 10 1850. The barrel has a weak address, but can make out New York as well as Sam'l Colt. The American walnut grips look good with much original varnish. Overall not a bad example that possibly was used in the Civil War.made in 1862. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
