Description:
This Harpers Ferry musket is apparently of the Type III variety. It features the smaller eagle, thicker stock and a 44 3/4 inch barrel. It is dated 1815 (5,340 produced according to Flayderman's Guide). It has had the original iron pan replaced with on of brass. Other than that, everything appears to be original parts and condition. It is in excellent working order. The buttplate has rusted and the stock is dark where apparently it sat upright in some moisture (snow or water), at some point. This is an excellent example of an early Harpers Ferry flintlock musker.
