Profusely and expertly engraved lock in the European manner.Barrel engraved for the entire length to the muzzle with a vine motif. Brass mounts also nicely engraved-far above the quality level of Turkish and North African pieces. Walnut stocls with fine relief carving about the barrel tang and mounts. All original and with all the original parts including the locks. Original ramrods. Very distinctive in form and discussed in detail in Robert Elgood’s wonderful book “THE ARMS OF GREECE AND HER BALKAN NEIGHBORS IN THE OTTOMAN PERIOD ” pp. 184-193.Excellent condition overall and in perfect working order.
