HEPBURN SINGLE SHOT OCTAGON RIFLE IN .38 2 1/4" (.38-50 REM.) CALIBER, nice example that up until recently was still being used for target shooting! Has midrange vernier tang sight fully adjustable for windage and elevation along with a globe front sight that will accept apertures, also retains the original buckhorn rear sight, matching #6XXX on receiver, barrel and forend, generally exc. bore with maybe the slightest of corrosion ahead of the chamber- really minor, tight action, exc. butt stock with sharp checkering on the pistol grip, original butt plate & tight wood to metal fit, exc. forend showing light handling only and original metal forend tip also with tight wood to metal fit, cloudy gray receiver with good screws and sharp Remington markings on the lower left side, barrel with sharp Remington markings and overall is a very thin aged blue mixing heavily gray/brown, 30" octagon barrel with original Remington crown at the muzzle and of medium weight, correctly stamped on bottom flat ahead of forearm ".38 2 1/4" a nice example with great sights (Buffalo Arms sells .38-50 Rem. Hep. brass for about a buck a piece and is a similar cartridge to the .38-55.
