What a beautiful rifle, shipped in 1951 and in 99% crisp factory original condition. With 26" #7 stainless steel barrel, mint bore, 99.9% blue, chambered in the highly desirable 220 SWIFT caliber, this Super Grade is a gem. The .220 Swift cartridge comprised only 3.4% of the total production of the Model 70, so this is not seen often, especially in the Super Grade. Everything on this rifle is factory correct and original including the Model 22G rear sight, Redfield #255 front sight, steel butt plate, sling swivels, sand blasted finish on the 26" stainless steel barrel, wood finish and checkering, with all of the metal in mint condition and the wood with just a few light handling marks. AND LOOK AT THE FIGURE IN THE WOOD! FAR BETTER THAN MOST ALL SUPER GRADES YOU WILL SEE. We all love great wood don't we? It has a 13 1/2" LOP to the correct butt plate, excellent screw slots, perfect mirror shiny bore and rifling...this gun has not been shot much at all. The Super Grade variation of the Pre-64 Model 70 made up only 2.73% of the total production of Model 70 rifles, totaling about 15,000 guns. There were only about 500 made in .220 SWIFT. Of those made, this has to be one of the highest condition factory original guns left in existence. Not only is this an investment quality Winchester, but it is ready to take out some serious varmints if you choose to give her a run. Thanks for looking!
