The Plant .30 Cupfire revolver was contracted to Eagle Manufacturing Company in New York. . This was Plant's 2nd model with the first being the .42CF that was made in New Haven, CT. It has a 5 shot cylinder, 3 1/2" octagon barrel, silver plated brass frame, spur trigger and rosewood grips. For sale is a cased pair of the Plant .30CF revolvers. The first is serial number 3953 and is in excellent condition. The second is an shipped prototype with the cylinder and barrel in the white, an unfinished brass frame with many sharp edges, smaller grips than typically encountered, a very different center pin, no serial number and the very rare Reynolds, Plant & Hotchiss markings on the cylinder. The custom case is made of solid black walnut and will ship as shown with 4 orignial cupfire cartridges and an African Ebony and Solid Ivory handled screwdriver. In my 30 years of collecting I have never encountered a proto type Plant. This is a set of revolvers that you would be proud to show. SOLD Antique: Yes |
