Description:
Marked next to the hinges on the inside of the case is "Manufactured solely by W. Kidder patent applied for 1854". Case is nicely done with brass corners both top and bottom. There is a makers label on the inside of the case " Henry Tomes and Co Guns and Sporting Apparatus New York. The 49 Colt pocket has a 4" bbl and 2-line New York address. Gun is in the 98k serial range. All matching numbers including wedge. Excellent grips with most orig varnish. The back strap and trigger guard have about 90% orig nickel. Excellent cylinder scene. Traces of blue and case hardening turning plum color. Case is fitted with correct powder flask, Colt marked bullet mold, key and mscl. Kidder cases are very desirable and collectable. Excellent outfit. 31 cal.
