Description:
One of the best, handmade copies of the famous Colt Walker we have ever seen, not to be confused with the cheap Italian reproductions on the market today. According to noted Colt collector Kurt House from San Antonio, this is one of 8 or 10 that were hand forged by a Texas gunsmith about 75 years ago. It is .44 caliber with a rifled barrel and weighs nearly five pounds. It is heavily patinaed but functions well, although the main spring is weak. It is marked on the right side of the barrel lug, "U S 1847", and on the right side of the frame, "B CO 209", on the trigger guard, "212", and the number "3" is on the rammer. We can not explain these different numbers. Most numbers are partially obscurred by oxidation but visiable. The gun looks old, and could easily be mistaken for an original were it not for the location and size of the serial numbers. Regardless, this would be a great display piece for those not willing to pay $100,000 plus for an original.
