Description:
Serial #478, .28 Caliber, 2 1/2” octagon barrel with a very good bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is the manually turned model with push-button cylinder latch and has an overall smooth plum-brown patina with some gray fading along the raised edges and small areas of pinprick pitting and freckling as well. The mechanism is functional, however the Maynard tape primer sprocket no longer advances, and the swiveling barrel assembly, which matches the condition of the rest of the gun perfectly, is numbered “53(2?)” on the underside of the topstrap. The walnut grips are in very good plus shape with some scattered small handling marks and minor blemishes on both panels. These are interesting little revolvers that were quite advanced for their time in some regards, but also rather primitive in others. This example is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique
