- Note: This Marlin-made, Ballard #4 Perfection, single shot rifle is a fine example of the Ballard Design. Bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. The original sights on the octagonal barrel have been removed. And a modern front sight and sight blank have been installed on the barrel and an MVA mid-range tang sight has been installed at the wrist. The barrel has turned a plum brown and is freckled with spots of corrosion. The frame shows light case colors on both flats. The rifle has a lovely piece of walnut for a buttstock with a nice figure, but there is a drying crack from the wrist on the left side and another smaller drying crack on the right side at the crescent butt. Original buttplate is in place. Great for a collector or shooter!
