- Note: Made in 1949, just post-war, this Savage model 99 in the venerable 300 Savage caliber has gotten through life pretty well. The stock and forend show only minor handling marks especially given its 67 years of service. The original rear sight has been removed and a sight blank put in its place and a Redfield tang peep sight installed. The front action ring has been drilled and tapped for a Weaver scope mount and it appears that the rear scope mount position was started but not finished. Bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. A high percentage of blue remains on metal parts and traces of case colors remain on the lever.
