- Note: This is an original Ballard #2 sporting rifle in the popular 38 long. Bore is bright with very strong lands and grooves and light frosting throughout. The rifle has been fitted with a later model mid-range tang sight. The rear sight has been replaced with a slot blank and the front sight has been replaced with a modern front peep that accepts different sight apertures. Metal surfaces have turned a plum brown with some light traces of case color on the frame. The original wood and crescent buttplate are in place showing light handling wear. There is one small drying crack on the left wrist buttstock position.
