Remington Arms, bolt action rifle, Model "Rifle, .303 Pattern 14 (commonly known as a P-14)", caliber .303, serial number 251572,
This is an interesting rifle. It has been arsenal reworked. The receiver, bolt, and rear sight have matching numbers although the bolt has a second number underneath it that does not match and is crossed out (assuming that when the rifle was arsenal reworked it was correctly fitted with an earlier bolt, head spaced tested, and a new matching number applied), the barrel is not numbered or marked unless it is marked under the stock, THE RIFLING IS SHARP AND THE BORE IS EXCELLENT, the stock is a Remington Eddystone stock (no finger grooves) and is marked with an "E" under the pistol grip, the stock also has inspector markings on the right side of the butt, the volley sight is pressed into the wood but has no ranging arm, the buttstock medallian circle has been filled by the arsenal with a wooden disc, stock shows normal handling marks but no abuse, overall a really nice rifle,
