Description:
This rifle was built by Zastava, the same company that built the Mark X and Remington 798 Mauser action rifles. These guns are true Model 98 Mauser designs, resembling most closely the commercial FN actions built in the late 1940s. They have reinforced receiver sidewalls and controlled round feed with the famous Mauser 98 claw extractor. They have a fully adjustable Mark X style trigger. The bolt shroud is sculpted with a side safety. The steel bottom metal has a hinged floor plate with a push button release. The metal is nicely blued. This particular rifle has a light European walnut stock with some nice fiddleback figure. The wood is nicely finished and the stock is checkered in an English flat checkering style. This is the only controlled round feed true Mauser rifle available in left hand unless you are willing to spend thousands of dollars more for a custom rifle. The 9.3X62 has been around for over 100 years in Europe and Africa, but it has only become popular in the US for a few short years. IT propels a 286 grain bullet at about 2500 fps, and that makes it just about perfect for anything in the world. This caliber is even permitted in many African countries for dangerous game, up to and including elephant. I have other left hand rifles in this model in other calibers, including 6.5X55, 270, 7X57, 308, 300 Win and 375 H&H. I will be putting them up for sale as time permits. FFL required for shipment.
