Early serial number of 2400. A lot of these self-loaders turn a grey color and aren't too attractive. This one has most orig blue with light wear at the muzzle and some thinning on the bbl. The receiver also has most blue. Another plus is the near excellent bore. Rear sight has been replaced with a Redfield flat top sight. The front sight is a Lyman. Wood is relatively good with a couple small issues. A crack coming off buttstock on the right side. All wood is present. There has been a Hawkins pad installed. Forearm has the typical crack on the left side and runs the whole length. Wood is a bit loose and should be glued. All original wood is present. These early Winchester semi-auto's make for a good collector piece for not much money. Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms.
