SALE PENDING A fine original Krag 1899 Carbine that remains in great original condition with a fine shiny bore and strong rifling. The upper wood is missing. The rifle retains its original carbine "C" stamped front sight and the "C" stamped 2000 yard rear sight. The original carbine stock has never been sanded or refinished and does not have any cartouches...the only logical explanation for this would be it went back to the arsenal and was restocked possibly for later state militia or guard use...nice smooth walnut with patina and no dings or dents. The serial number 227xxx is within the 1st 1000 carbines of the 1899 range. All action and barrel finish has turned plum with quite a bit of the original blue remaining. This carbine has never had any corrosion or rust. Original sling swivels are present and remain in working order. A fine original 1899 Krag carbine. USPS priority mail is 45.00
