Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “Manufactured By The Winchester Repeating Arms Co. / New Haven. Conn. U. S.A and 30 WCF.
The left side of barrel has Nickel Steel Barrel – / Especially for Smokeless powder. The upper tang is marked “Model 1894 / Winchester / Patented August 21 1894. The serial number is found on the underside of the frame.
Barrel Length: 26” Octogon
Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with Marble’s “Sheard” dovetail set beaded post front sight and a flip up ladder rear sight, also set in a dovetail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are smooth and nicely finished wood. There are a few marks and depressions scattered throughout. The forearm is in very good condition. The wood looks well preserved and appropriately aged. The LOP measures 13” to the crescent butt plate. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is just a bit gray and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no pitting present.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some thinning on on both sides of the frame and the lever. There is some thinning on the forearm cap and the magazine hanger. There is scattered thinning, but this is a very sharp rifle. The Screw heads are sharp, showing only a few turnings. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition FOR 117 TEARS OLD.
