Description:
Walther PP Semi Auto Pistol with Police Marking, serial #884283, cal. 22 LR, with a 4" barrel and a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 75% original blue remainder with front and back strap touched up. The checkered Walther Banner grips rate very good showing minor wear and handling from the years. The pistol was fitted during the period of use with slightly taller sights, the rear with a square notch and the front a Patridge-style face. The gun is "(crown)/N" proofed and was milled for the 90 degree safety, currently there is a 60 degree safety installed. The right side of the slide is neatly, marked "BR.P.P.K.N:r 1", purportedly for Berliner Polizeipr_sidium Kriminal (roughly translated Berlin police detective bureau gun No. 1), for use as a training pistol, thus the slightly taller sights. The inside of the slide is scratch-numbered "283" and included with the arm is a single magazine. A rather nice example of a smallbore Walther PP with a very rare police, or police training marking.
