Description:
One of approx 1,000 Model HP pistols manufactured by Walther in 1940 for the Swedish military. This is a first variation, with all the unique and unusual features of the early P.38's: rectangular firing pin, checkered take-down lever, checkered grips, round lanyard loop, etc. Original high gloss finish is in beautiful condition with normal finish wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. No import marks. Proper Swedish contract serial number with the H-prefix. All parts are Swedish contract, although the serial numbers on the block and barrel differ slightly from the frame (the Swedish military wasn't concerned with matching-numbered parts or collectibility). Magazine appears to be German wartime manufacture. The gun is in excellent mechanical condition and represents a very interesting piece of military history. Sold as a collectible only.
