Description:
Mechanically excellent inside and out, rust-free and handsome as can be. Has only light handling marks in the wood, virtually perfect blueing and is about the prettiest version of the Model 99 they produced (second only to a Model 99G!) Case colors on the lever are about as close to perfect as we could hope for, with even some factory varnish still present on the sides and protected areas. 24" barrel has beautiful, clean chamber, crisp, shiny bore and rifling from front to back. Fore end, buttstock and buttplate matching serial numbers to the action, factory originals, solid, with gorgeous checkering. When we had the buttplate off, we discovered a typed card with the previous owner's name and some records of game taken with this rifle. Rear sight is a leter-style Marbles in similarly nice condition to the rifle. Front sight appears to be the painted type, and that could stand some freshening-up. 300 Savage caliber, SN# 4163xx from 1941. Sales within our beautiful state of California are very OK.
