Payment Types Accepted: cash credit card checks Description: USED Borchardt C93 1893 7.65 x 25mm Waffenfabrik Loewe Berlin Description: This is for an extremely rare Borchardt C93 with low, matching serial numbers (inlcuding wood-based magazine!). This gun is the predecessor to the German Luger. This Borchardt is complete with all parts showing proper markings to verify the firearm is an original Model 1893. The firearm was dissasembled to verify markings and to establish that it is complete and as close to originally manufactured as possible. The toggle is marked "D.R.P" above text reading "N", "o" over two lines, "75837." The chamber is marked "Waffenfabrik Loewe Berlin." The right side of the frame is marked "System Borchardt. Patent." The serial number "176" is matching on all parts, including the magazine and grips (as shown in the photographs). Approximately 800 pistols marked as "System Borchardt" were made between 1894 and 1896. DWM took over production in 1897 and updated the firearm to reflect the change, producing roughly 2200 units. The total production from 1893 to 1899: a mere 3000 guns (Referenced from B. Smith's History of the HandgunReferenced from B. Smith's History of the Handgun). German proofs are present and consistent with the era of manufacture. This gun is considered the first commercially succesful semi automatic and has many features which are common and recognized in modern firearms such as the magazine in the grip. As a point of historical interest, the Borchardt was imported to the United States and was originally available for $30, around $750 in today's money. The gun was appraised at an NRA condition of 95% (per antique firearm standards). The bore is clean and bright with strong rifling. These highly collectible and historic firearms are typically only available from private collections and offered through major houses that charge exorbitant fees and premiums.
