Description:
Sako L61R custom bolt action rifle chambered for .270 Win. The aftermarket barrel is stamped “J B DEVER” “270w”. Jack Dever was a fairly well-know gunsmith in the central part of the country. He learned his craft at Mashburn in Oklahoma City and he went on to make a name for himself building very accurate Remington XP 100 pistols. This rifle is based on a Sako L61R action, it has a rust blued 23” barrel and fitted to a gorgeous, glass bedded French Walnut stock with fleur de lis checkering on the grip and forearm, Sako floor hinged plate. It has a Neider style butt plate and grip cap and a shadow line cheek piece. The compact 2-7x36 Leupold VX II scope with duplex cross hairs is mounted with Buehler rings and bases. The gun is beautiful. 13 ½” LOP and 8 lbs. 7 oz. with the scope. The are a couple of noticeable “dings” just ahead of the pistol grip checkering on the left side and there is an old, repaired and glassed small crack in the corner where the bolt release meets the stock. A very handsome rifle in a classic caliber, tastefully crafter by an old time renowned gun maker.
