This is a two piece blank for a fine shotgun such as a Purdy, Holland and Holland, Fabbri, Perugini Visini, Piotti, or perhaps a Perazzi. It can also go on a double rifle, or even a Sharps rifle or classic lever gun, and is for the owner who appreciates the finer quality firearms and doesn't settle for second best.
This 2 piece blank of High Exhibition grade English Walnut will cost you the same $1500 if you get the same quality blank from California Hardwood Company located in Santa Rosa, CA, where I got it from, but you won't get the warranty that I will put on it. They will warranty a blank typically for 30 days. I will warranty it with a back up blank of Exhibition English Walnut for two years, possibly longer, after you get this blank from me. I state it that way because it will be at least two years or more before I am ready to have another gun built. If you want this exceptional blank now, but think it will be more than two years before you start your gun build, just let me know up front.
Pictures don't do this blank justice. I have held over 2,000 blanks of Exhibition Grade English Walnut Blanks in my hands and this is by far the best piece yet. I got this blank in 2010. It is dry, and so is the back up blank. You'll get a fantastic gunstock out of it that is equally gorgeous on both sides and structurally strong throughout with very tight straight grain in throughout the critical pistol grip area.
