EARLY SAVAGE MODEL 1899A OR 99 LEVER ACTION .38-55 WIN. CAL RIFLE CIRCA 1909. 26” round barrel with original elevator rear and nickel blade front sights. Serial numbered in the 97,xxx range. Rare and desirable .38-55 Winchester caliber which was the largest cartridge offered. All original with 98-99% bright blue. Loading lever with the original case hardening. Excellent stock and forend with the original finish with a coat of true oil on top. Forend with a barely visible hairline on the left side which has been reglued. Perfect working order and a brilliant, near mint bore. Nice early example with Perch Belly stock and brilliant early style blue. Extremely hard to find in .38-55 caliber.
