ALMOST NEVER SEEN No. 3F FINE GALLERY RIFLE, .22RF CALIBER, MARLIN FIREARMS COMPANY MARKED, #32XXX matching on the receiver, barrel, forend and correct Swiss butt plate, surprisingly EXCELLENT BORE! Almost all the .22RF Ballards I've seen have poor to fair bores as they were all made during the black powder era, very hard to find a bore like this! 26" octagon barrel retains most of the original blue with only slight age and edge wear, receiver a pleasing mottled gray/brown with traces of aged case colors, correct full loop lever and unusual gold plated trigger that still retains much of the plating- missing mainly on the front part of the trigger, exc. butt stock and forend with sharp checkering on the pistol grip and ebony wedge inlay intact, stamped in tiny letters in the wood under the butt plate is "A.O. Neidner" who was a famed gunsmith born 1863 and died 1954, probably had a tang sight on at one time as the usual small non adjustable gallery sight on the barrel has been replaced with a dovetail slot filler blank and the two filler screws for a tang sight are gone, blade front sight, correct fluted octagon receiver top used on this model, tight action, an exceptional condition and seldom seen Ballard.
