Chambered in the 7mm Mauser (7x57) caliber this original rifle is in very good condition. It has a solid 50% of the original factory blue finish remaining, and a similar percentage of the original case colors as well. The bore is good with strong rifling and sharp lands and grooves but just a tad dark from light pitting. The original wooden stock set is in excellent shape with no cracks or repairs. The wood has dings and small dents indicative of light use and old age. It comes complete with the original Remington marked bayonet complete with scabbard and leather frog. The blade is 8 inches in length and has a hooked quillion crossguard. For years these rifles were bought for their sturdy and reliable actions for converting into custom rifles in a variety of calibers; but this example has survived in it's original configuration and as a result has become quite collectible. Some of these rifles in 7mm Mauser were used by Pancho Vila and his army and have a rich Southwest history. This is a chance to get an all original, unaltered Remington Rolling Block complete with the period correct Remington bayonet at a great price!
