GORGEOUS VIVID CASE COLOR RECEIVER ON THIS SUPER RARE .38-55 CHAMBERED M-93 CARBINE WITH MARLIN FIREARMS CORPORATION BARREL MARKINGS THAT DATE THIS ONE FROM 1922 TO 1924, but the amazing part is that the standard M-93 carbine was only catalogued in .30-30 and .32 Special. So, somehow this one was made in .38-55 caliber, perhaps on special order. Also has the six pointed star on the upper tang. According to Brophy's Marlin book, "Literature published in 1926-1927 states that when a Marlin gun leaves the factory bearing the Marlin star stamped into the metal, it is 'as near perfection as the finest of materials, equipment, and skill can make it.' " Retains vivid case colors on the entire receiver with only fading on the lever, fine barrel and mag blue with some scattered areas where some light rust was wiped off- more toward the middle of the barrel and looks like finger print spotting, correct carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact, MINT BRIGHT BORE, exc. stock and forend with only normal "checking" to the surface wood finish and minor handling marks, tight action, even retains most of the blue on the butt plate (worn at bottom and top rounded edges), a stunning and rare caliber Marlin carbine, investment quality.
