Description:
44 RF cal. Standard configuration early Henry rifle with 24 inch octagon bbl with integral magazine made in Sept. 1863 during the height of the Civil War. Barrel and mag are a brown/plum patina. Bore is worn and has moderate pitting as you see in most Henry rifles, but does have visible rifling. Brass receiver is a dark mustard patina and the butt plate matches this patina as well. Wood has a small crack in the wrist on the left side. Several bumps and bruises but otherwise solid. The screw heads that go in the wood appear to be refinished. Other than that, this is a very nice honest looking Henry rifle that could have been used in the Civil War.
