This is a handsome, 1905-made rifle that retains 70-75% of the original blue with the balance turning a mild plum-brown throughout. Silvering is present along the edges of the barrel flats, and at the muzzle. The frame has an overall mottled patina with muted original color-case hardening still visible. The forend and buttstock have an added varnish over light handling marks and small surface blemishes. This is a very nice, usable Marlin in the fantastic .38-55 chambering.
