Description:
Serial #S149250, .38 Special, 5” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a fabulous five-screw revolver, made in the mid-1950s, that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor and retains 99% plus of the original nickel finish with only a very mild turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder, as well as a handful of negligible hairline scratches scattered about. The trigger and hammer retain 85-90% of the original color case-hardening with the edges faded to a pewter gray patina. The S&W Magna grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and are in excellent shape with very little wear and only trace flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in its original, numbered gold and blue, two-piece box that is in very good condition with some edge wear and corner damage. According to Smith & Wesson records, this revolver was shipped on November 15, 1957 to Rex Firearms Co., New York City. This is a great mid-20th century N-frame S&W in excellent condition and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
