Description:
Gun remains, correct, and gorgeous. This is a wonderfully preserved example of pre-1900 Colt craftsmanship. Unaltered barrel, 8" long, with excellent address at cylinder. Serial number is consistent at backstrap, trigger guard (fancy brass), frame, and barrel assembly. The rifling is very good. The engraving on this piece is very sharp, and the cylinder scenes are still very visible. The brass triggerguard has a rich patina, just as the backstrap. The wedge appears to be original, as engraving remains on its outer edge. Wolf head hammer, fully engraved. Just as striking as the engraving, the Ivory grips with fully carved Mexican Eagle have developed a stunning patina. Finally, the action of this revolver is as tight as it was when shipped. Truly a museum quality piece, which could be the showcase item of ANY collection.
