Description:
An English made Cogswell & Harrison double rifle in .470 Nitro Express. Made in 1930 for Brigadier General Lord John Vereker, Viscount Gort, VC. It has been owned by two other hunters since then.
This double rifle later had added a set of claw mounts for a 1.5 x 4.5 Kahles Wien scope Helia Super. With the scope off, the mounts do not interfer with the sights.
There is an old travel case containing 4 snap caps, front sight hood, chrome oil bottle, 17mm wide sling, and a Rigby cleaning cloth. The case is well used but still in good shape and sound, there is no key for the case.
There is as well a Certificate of Origin from Cogswell & Harrison confirming who this double rifle was originally made for.
Many other pictures are available.
