Description:
SALE PENDING Ralph Carter, respected Colorado gunsmith built this hard hitting 338 Win Mag for a local Doc. The gun is a beautiful example of the gunsmithing trade. Nothing but the best components are incorporated into this rifle. The stock is an incredible piece of Tiger Striped Maple with lots of figure, it sports a Decelorator Butt pad, LOP is 13 & 5/8". The stock has a schnabel forend and has flawless 24 (?) LPI skip line checkering, sling swivel studs and a metal pistol grip cap. The action is an A-V Sako # 606XXX with a claw extractor and drop floor plate, it is rust blued (matte). The trigger is also a Sako trigger. This action is mated to an octagon 24" Shilen barrel which is also rust blued which has a mint bore and an integral quarter rib. The rifle is wearing a Leupold VX-3, 2.5 to 8 power scope with a duplex reticle, the scope is mounted in Conetrol mounts and rings. My photographs don't do this rifle justice. The rifles rates a 98-99%, if it has been shot, it surely wasn't very much. The fit and finish on this rifle are remarkable, you won't be disappointed with this gun. No California sales, sorry.
