Remington (U.S.) Model 1863 Zouave" Percussion Rifle (single-shot/ muzzle-loading/ black powder/ ball ammunition) .58cal. In 1863, Remington Arms Company began to produce a new rifle. Over 12,000 of these, called the "Zouave," were made." Few "Zouave" rifles actually saw combat service during the Civil War years. This rifle is all original with sharp edges and beautiful cartouches on the stock. The gun does have some oxidation on the metal and handling marks on the stock. This 1863 is a fine example of an un molested rifle from the period and will make a fine addition to any collection.
