CLEMENT & JUNG U.S. MODEL 1840 HEAVY CAVALRY SABER AND SCABBARD CIRCA 1861. 44” o/a with 36” blade stamped on the ricasso “C & J”. Very good overall with dark metal patina on blade and scabbard. Beautiful hilt with dark brass which has not been polished in the modern era. Original buff leather washer. Beautifully restored grip wrap and wire. Nice example of the standard saber of the Mexican War and the Civil War at a reasonable price.
