Smith Field .410 Gauge SxS 100% CONDITION, HUNTER ARMS GUN General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1928, .410 Gauge, 5lbs 11oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: 110032 There were a total of only 2500 L.C. Smith Field Grade .410's made. Most of the .410's being offered for sale are well worn, have short stocks, butt pads, etc. that make them less desirable. Those choosing the small bore guns as their passion choose from a minute pool of guns, as the American made .410 bore double gun is a low production gun that is hard to find. In fact, of the prominent American makers, only Parker, Ithaca, and L.C. Smith made their shotguns in the diminutive .410. Most are aware that the Parker fetches well over the $20,000 mark, and for some reason the Ithaca has a smaller following. That leaves the L.C. Smith, America's only commercially successful sidelock action available in the .410 bore, as the most desirable and affordable of the American small bores. The best guns for your collection and for investment are always going to be low production guns with desirable features, like the .410. There is always a buyer for nice condition .410 American doubles. This gun has been professionally restored to historically correct factory condition, with proper bone and charcoal case color, nice rust blue barrels, charcoal blue trigger guard, original factory wood with a full length of pull to a factory butt plate, nicely recheckered. This Elsie, sn94972 made in 1919 by Hunter Arms Co., Inc, sure qualifies as an investment quality firearm. The earlier Hunter Arms Co. L.C. Smith guns made prior to 1945 are more desirable than similar Marlin Arms made guns, so that is an extra "feather in the cap" for this nice little Elsie! With great dimensions, mirror bores, and factory 3" chambers she is ready for your fall bird season, bunnies, and the challenging clay target games. Sounds like fun!
