Description:
This is a Winchester Model 1886 rifle in .40-65 W.C.F. The metal on this rifle has been Painted with black paint that is flaking off. There are handling marks, but the metal does not appear to be heavily pitted. The 26 inch octagon barrel has a rough bore showing pitting and with light rifling visible. Sights appear to be the original buckhorn rear and blade front. The walnut straight grip butt stock shows some chips where it joins the receiver, but is otherwise in Fair to Good condition with a steel crescent butt plate. The fore end is walnut in Good condition with an end cap and a full length magazine tube.
