VIVID CASE COLOR AND BLUE RARE MODEL 1936 SPORTING CARBINE IN .30-30, ONLY MADE FOR ONE YEAR FROM 1936-1937! After 1937 the model designation changed to "Model 36" where this one has the early "Model 1936" upper tang marking, the Sporting Carbine is different from the standard carbine in that it has a 2/3 magazine and a blued steel forend cap instead of the carbine's barrel band, it also has a ramped front sight instead of the standard small carbine style front sight, this one is in extraordinary condition with sharp vivid case colors on the receiver with only very minor edge wear and fading of some of the color on the lever, deep bright blue on the barrel, loading gate, magazine and forend cap, exc. wood, unaltered Marlin original butt plate, exc. sharp bore, limited number made during the Great Depression era,, these are much more rare than most collectors realize, but word is getting out on all Connecticut made Marlins, especially the rare variations and pre-war models, this one is outstanding.
