Rare!!! Collectors Welcome!!! Antique Prior WWI Period -1920th GERMAN rifle scope Voigtländer/Braunschweig SKOPAR 5.Very rare scope! Not typical for 100 or more years scope.(I think was made between 1900-1925) CompanyVoigtländer from Braunschweig produced rifle scopes in Germany prior to World War I for use on sporting,hunting rifles.With the onset of the war, Voigtländer/Braunschweig scopes, along with many other previously manufactured sporting rifle scopes, were adopted by the German Army for use on their Scharfschutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles. All Voigtländer /Braunschweig scopes are scarce in the USA. Rifle scope came from Germany,was cleaned from rust and old black paint, polished and re-bluing hand made(cold). Condition: rebuild to factory new, with L&K repair service in MO by Larry Weisz,only not painted.This includes cleaning all parts including all lens, inspecting all lens for future problems,make new seals, lubrication of adjusting system, tube cleaned inside and out and new dry nitrogen to prevent fogging.When finished optically and mechanically it is back to factory specs.Change broken reticle to new Crosshair. Rebuild cost $ 250.00 Just found and add in place original same period claws mounts rings (really very rare because of diameter 35 mm )with checkering bases. Lateral adjustment you can do by using left and right screws on rear claws mount. Claw mounts set to install on GEWEHR 98 and/or K98 Mauser Receiver. Depend how to install front base I sell saddle to this base, E-Bay item #253089040447. Reticle Crosshair Magnification 4 X Length 297 mm or 11.7 inches Main tube diameter 34.85 mm Eye tube diameter 37.94 mm Weight 16.8 oz or 476 gram(without mounts), with them 21.7 oz or 616 gram Excellent scope for Gewehr 98, drilling,sporting, and side by side collectible rifles.
