Manufactured by DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken) This is a 1906 Model made in Berlin in a 9mm for the Portuguese Navy. This is a very difficult Luger for the advanced collecter to obtain. In the original order of 1,000 Lugers, 800 were made with the "Royal Crest". When the King abdicated, the remaining 200 of the order were finished with the R.P. (Royal Portuguese) in place of the crest proof. The extractor is marked Carregda which means loaded. There are no other proofs on these Lugers except the MP. The MP stands for "Marina Portuguesa". This is considered by collectors as an '06 model with the squeeze grip safety, no stock lug and the polished thumb safety, includes a Cal 9mm magazine. The grip safety is not presently functional.
