E. Allen & Co Worcester Mass patent March 7, 1865. 32rf cal single shot derringer, with a 3" round/octagonal barrel. there is little if any original finish on the metal, just traces at best. But there is only minor surface corrosion. This gun uses the same style grip/frame as the rare 41 cal Allen derringers. The gun is complete and original, mechanically fine, with good markings. The top line of markings is strong, and the bottom line is weak. Grips, frame, and barrel all have matching serial numbers. The serial is #442x. The surface of the grips has been cleaned, heavily in spots around the escutcheons. The extractor mechanism works as designed, and both full and half cock notches are present on the hammer. The bore is fair. Interestingly, the chamber appears to be very long, as if designed for the 32 Long rim fire cartridge. The sights appear original.
