Fantastic example of a World War II Colt 1911A1 pistol. This Colt 1911A1 is serial number 868190, and was made circa 1942. The gun is completely original and unmolested, right down to the numbers matching slide. All the screw heads are clean and all of the stampings are crisp. The original factory grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips, and the bore in the original blued barrel is very good with sharp rifling with just a tiny bit of frosting scattered in the grooves. The action functions smoothly and is nice and tight to the frame. The factory original parkerized finish is in beautiful shape, and the contrast in the finish color at the hardened area at the front of the slide is still clearly visible. This pistol overall appears to having been used and fired very little after being issued. It comes complete with the original magazine, a un-marked, two tone magazine made by Colt and used thru 1942. We were told that it was carried in the South Pacific theater by a member of a mortor crew, and it has been in that G.I.'s family ever since he carried it home. If you are looking for a really nice all original WWII Colt 1911A1, this is the gun for you. It has never been owned by a collector before and it would be very difficult to find a nicer example than this one! ASK FOR BRENT.
